Glow in the Dark Bat and Ghost Cabochons

While I was out shopping the other day I saw these cute bat and ghost ice cube molds. As soon as I saw theme I knew they were a perfect size for cabochons.

 

 

After the pieces have cured a face needs to be painted on, then they are good to go. I have some stored away in my deco supplies, but they may make some cute phone charms or small necklaces.

And the best part?

 

 

I made them so they glow in the dark! I have had glow in the dark powder for resin stored away in my stash, but I keep forgetting to use it. I wish I would have found it again sooner, because it would have been awesome for some Halloween themed cases.

Cross Stitch WIP Wednesday 10/15/2014

This week I am working on an adorable spring/summer sampler. The pattern is from The World of Cross Stitching and was featured in issue 219. Right now I am almost done with the first motif, and I still have several to go.

It is so cute! I might go frame browsing soon. Sometimes seeing that inspires me to want to work on the project even more.

Resin Decoden Phone Cases

New to Sammy's Jewels is resin decoden cases! These are perfect who like the cutesy look of deco cases, but don't want something too bulky. Making these takes precision and patience to ensure the resin does not spill all over the case. It is a versatile way of making cases because you can easily color the resin, mix in any type of glitter, and use almost any type of cabochons.

DIY Halloween Decoration Pins 2014

Which is your favorite? I love the painted donut pumpkins, but I have a pretty unsteady hand, so I don't think those are for me. I think I want to try the milkjug ghosts!



Creepy Cute Bone Heart Cabochons

 

I have been a busy bee with making cabochons. My latest creation is these spooky heart cabochons. I have had some lovely bone sprinkles since Halloween of last year, but this year I found out there is also bloody bone sprinkles!

I make these by first pouring a layer of clear resin and arranging the sprinkles around. Then, once the first layer is dry enough I pour a second colored layer. This round I made pink, purple, blue, and black cabs.

 

I have also been making decoden cases again! This time around I am making resin cases. They take a lot of patience to make, but the end result is so nice. They are a great choice for people who want something a little more simple and lighter than whipped cases. The case pictured can be bought from my Etsy shop here.

 

 

I have also been making a habit of clearing out my cabochon drawer more often. Often times when I am pouring resin I have a little bit of extra that I will pour into whatever molds I can grab. After they cure and have been sanded I toss them into the drawer. This was my latest cleanout that I did. I them as a giant grab bag on my Instagram. Kawaii and Creepy Cute Dust Plugs and Phone Charms

I am dabbling into the world of making cell phone charms again. As always I have kawaii and creepy cute themed ones. They have dust plugs on them, but they can also be made into cell phone straps or key chains. I will be adding more pretty frequently since they are so fun to make. Check back at my phone charms section often to see what is new.

 

 

 

First up is some kawaii outer space themed charms. The melting moon charm is perfect for those who like bulky charms. The Saturn charm has some star and moon shaped glitter in the ring.

 

Next up is some creepy cute bat charms. The black and purple bat ones have already sold, but I will be making more soon. The other ones feature some bloody bone sprinkles embedded inside them. Perfect for some spooky Halloween flair!

Angel Wing Hair Clips

I have been making more and more angel wing hair clips. These clips are the perfect kawaii accessory for fairy kei and sweet lolita fashion. They come in several pastel colors, and a few darker colors too. As always, custom colors and color combos are available upon request. Simply send me a convo on Etsy!

 

 

First up are some solid colored clips. I also make them in purple, blue, and mint.

 

 

And here are some duo tone angel clips. I am always experimenting with new color combos. They possibilities of what can be made are nearly endless! I am thinking about trying mint and black, blue and pink, white and blue, purple and mint, and maybe even blue and black!
